There was a partially-red partially-yellow one at the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve this winter. I think I've seen about six yellowish ones ever around here, but none more yellow than this one! They're a little more common out where Andy lives in northern California.

ReplyDeleteI think I've read that the pigmentation is affected by the bird's diet. So there may be some unique food source that the bird is relying on.
