Yesterday (Jan. 3) at the Wastewater, Joseph and I had 3 Golden Eagles. Other birds seen included 5 Snowy Owls, 2 Short-eared Owls, Northern Shrike, Cackling Goose, and Iceland Gull. At Pere Marquette we had a Surf Scoter as well.

ReplyDeleteI ran into Jonathan and his Brother on the way out of WW Tues. and they told me the same thing. They seemed to "know their stuff" but honestly, I too wondered about the I.D. So today I talked to Ric, and asked him about it. Quote; "If Jonathan, his brothers, OR their Dad tell you they saw a species -- you can bank on it" They're "top gun" Birders. So --- YEEHAA! let's start lookin for Goldens! :)

Ric told me the same thing today at the WW. Good find guys, hope they want to pose for pictures!!( The goldens not the brothers)
