Raptor Sunday at the Wastewater


Raptor Sunday:  Peregrine Falcon and leg bands, Northern Harrier and a Red-tailed Hawk.  Not pictured is the group of 20 or so Tundra Swans on the east lagoon.

Don, thanks for the photos and information. I've emailed Nik Kalejs of the MDNR who bands the peregrines at the Cobb Plant to see if he can I.D. your bird.

A search on the Midwest Peregrine Database show that D/73, Black/Red was banded in Jasper County, IN on June 23,2014.

Thank you for the info Mark. Think he may be going the wrong way if he's migrating...

I'm not sure if the smokestack birds migrate. They may just disperse in any direction. Anyone with knowledge of this, please comment!
