My wife Carol saw this Northern Harrier land in a corn field. It looked like it was eating something. I got the scope out and turned it up to 60X and could see the Harrier was eating an egg. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Not with a harrier, but a wild turkey. 3-4 weeks back, I was jogging on the xc ski trails at Muskegon State Park. Suddenly there was a turkey running quickly ahead of me, and it dropped an egg from its beak, turkey size I'd say. The egg cracked, so I could not tell if it was being carried with an open jaw or pierced. The bird veered off into the woods. I ran down the trail a ways, took a short breather, and on the way back, going the opposite way, there was a repeat performance with another egg. Am I correct in thinking that this bird was a nest thief, having found a woodland treat.
