I was at the Wastewater this morning and saw this Dowitcher. Due to the fog I couldn't get a really good photo of it, probably wishful thinking but I was hoping it was a Long-billed, as I always do. Maybe someone will get out there now that the fog has burned off and confirm Long or Short.

Thanks, Mike. Some people say that the Long-billed is chunkier or has a more rounded upper-body look. By that measure, I think yours would be a Short-billed. But I've been with top birders out there trying to figure which dowitcher, and they don't reach a consensus. Hopefully someone will see this image or the bird itself and be able to I.D. it to the exact species.
