Mike, on first glimpse of the small image, I thought "Hermit Thrush" because of the way your bird seems to go more reddish toward the rear and tail. But after enlarging the photo, I agree with your Veery I.D. (bird's breast isn't spotted enough to be Hermie). The five Catharus thrush "cousins" (Wood, Swainson's, Gray-cheeked, Hermit and Veery) are hard to tell in the field, and checking this bird online was a bit like seeing one in the field -- first naked eye, then with binoculars. Maybe one of our top-gun birders will post that this is one of the other three, but I don't think so. Thanks!
