Today there were two American Robins on Harbor Island in Grand Haven. I also had 5 more robins on Harbor Drive by the Snug Harbor Restaurant. On Jan. 1st I had a Northern Shrike by Little Black Lake on Wood Road by the bridge.

It's crazy! There were 20 American Robins at our home in Kent County on New Years day...
Did you see Red-winged Blackbirds? They're up more than usual this winter too:

Compare it to last year:

Look particularly at SE Wisconsin, Chicago, and the north shore of Lake Erie! I guess this is all a symptom of the "winter" we're getting. Anybody seen Common Redpolls?
Zach, I haven't seen any Red-winged Blackbirds yet. I did do a little traveling, looking for some but came up blank.

I saw a flock of horned larks at the Wastewater today. Pretty weird winter.
Yes, but Horned Larks aren't weird around here in any season, just hard to see! ;-)
