Okay, so I've been bored! I'll spend a couple more days at Mona Lake and then move on to other things. The Bald Eagles are obvious to most -- but the fish?
Batteries? what ever are you talking about? ;)I thought that was a "mums the word" moment between friends. (Oh, the betrayl) And I suppose, all the Eagle action started after I left in shame? You can "rub that in" also. Mike
You are too funny! Actually, the lighting got bad and so many seagulls were flying around you couldn't make out the eagles. I am hoping to get back tomorrow or Thursday. How long do you think the eagles will stay there? Hope to shoot with you again. Sandy
No idea how long they'll stay. It's a good reason to "join a nature club" as I said. I don't know what the G.R. club is like, but the people in M.C.N.C. are great about answering anything I ever ask, (and I ask alot) So hopefully someone will let you know what to expect as far as the Eagles timeline goes, I just don't really know myself.
Mike, Those are some awesome shots! I've gotten a few good shots down in the park but am wondering if there's a better spot. I have a new (used) 200-500mm lens coming on Friday and would love to try it out this weekend. The eagles usually leave around the 15th - 18th of the month. They know it's time to go by the amount of daylight in a day and the angle of the sun.
The best spot seems to be crossing the cement bridge, to the second deck, then go around and UNDER the deck. you don't "stick out" there, and it's, depending on the wind, a little protected. Congrats on your Lens! I'm sure you'll get some good shots Mike
