During a futile search for the male Surf Scoter at the Muskegon Channel on Sunday afternoon, February 2nd, I came across this Barrow's Goldeneye, a lifer for me.

Great find Mike, I will be chasing this bird as soon as I have the chance!
Mike, this is a great bird for Muskegon! I see only one other local sighting on eBird. Years ago I was with a group of club members who were scoping the Big Lake south of Pere Marquette Park and thought they had one. And I thought there was another Wastewater sighting many years ago, but it's not on eBird. It would not be a "lifer" for me only because I saw one with Carol as we were driving along the Snake River on a visit to my sister's place near Payette, Idaho.
