I saw this photo on Mike's Nature Club Facebook page the other day and asked if he would post it here too. Thanks, Mike. If you open this photo in a new tab and zoom to full size, you can see the harrier's owl-like facial disc very well. I think harriers use it to hear prey as the owls do. They hunt the Wastewater fields almost as late in the evening as the Short-eared Owls, once they get down here.
