Red Knot
Carol and I took a walk on the Grand Haven north pier to watch the sun set and found this Red Knot at the very end of the pier. The only camera I had was my cell phone. The bird was within four feet of me.

Charlie, on Sunday my Carol and I walked out there too. There were several Sanderlings, a few Semipalmated Sandpipers and a Least. Like you, I had no good camera, so of course some of the shorebirds walked within a few feet of us.
