Grosbeaks NO; But Other Good Stuff

Jonathan Lautenbach has emailed that the previous report at eBird of Evening Grosbeaks on the Dec. 14 Wastewater Christmas Bird Count was a recording error: should have been American Goldfinches.

The reports of Purple Sandpipers along the south breakwall at Pere Marquette Park continue.  Jeff Timmer had 4 PUSA on Friday Dec. 16 plus two Glaucous Gulls, James Markham 2 PUSA that afternoon, and Ken Sapkowski and Glenda Eikenberry 4 PUSA Saturday Dec. 17 (photo below).

Ken and Glenda also went out to the Wastewater on Saturday Dec. 17 noting 3 Snowy Owls, 2 Northern Harriers, 1 Rough-legged Hawk and a Partridge in a Pear Tree, (sorry, couldn't resist that), 1 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 Bald Eagle and a large flock of Snow Buntings.
