Today I got a brand new lens for my camera and within a couple hours, look who showed up. There was a female with him, but I wasn't able to capture a picture of her. I'm glad to see a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers flying around my house. - Casey Irwin

Casey, thanks for the picture. It seems as though the pileateds are getting more used to people. One was calling from down the street in my neighborhood several times yesterday morning and I've seen it in my yard twice in the last few weeks in what's basically just a suburban subdivision.
