I didn't realize the American Avocet had been spotted until I returned home from MWW tonight and saw it on your Recent Sightings. Here is (an admittedly poor iPhone camera) photo of it at the same location along the SW corner of the central dyke at MWW, the evening of 5/30, about 8:45 p.m. Thought it was a Bonaparte's Gull the way it swam in circles until I got close enough to identify it. I went back to MCWW and the avocet came right to me. The Common Loons were a nice surprise too. Here also is my best Yellow-billed Cuckoo shot. Thanks again for escorting me around. I now have 107 birds so far on this trip.
