I agree with Jeff that it's a Baltimore, but a very blotchy one. Maybe a young male with some old and some new feathers? We have them around our yard now, but for whatever reason they will not come in to our oranges this year.
After seeing a bird almost exactly like this one associating with a male at the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve today, I think Mike's bird is "just" a blotchy-looking female Baltimore. Anyone else want to chime in?
Yup, I agree with Ric. I thought it was either a young male with old/new feathers or a female one. Baltimore's are hard to figure out when they have the old/new feathers. I live in the Rockford area and I usually get orioles about 7-10 days after you guys do in Muskegon. Still waiting...
