Eric, A Sony A700 with a 70/400G F4 lens -- the Camera is built with "super steady shot" image sensor stabilization -- good for approx. 3 F-stops, so any lens I use becomes stabilized. The Deer and the Scoter were shot off a Tripod, (not locked) but the main reason I brought it was, as I was going to be standing in one spot for hours, I didn't want to hold the Camera all day. Every other shot I've ever put in this site have been hand-held.

Mike, what brand of camera and lens do you use for your pictures of birds? Is the lens image stabilized?
