Banded Bald Eagle: I.D. Requested

.
I'll see all the Snowy Owls and raise 2 Bald Eagles! Taken on the west side of west the lagoon November 25.  The leg band is on the upper bird if someone knows how to decipher the code.

Don, my wife and I were out to the wastewater Fri. and watched an adult Bald Eagle chase down a duck. The interesting thing was the eagle landed in the water and stayed there for a good 30 seconds. Have you ever seen an eagle do this?
The eagle did get the duck, but he was having a hard time flying while holding onto the duck.

I've read of eagles occasionally drowning when they land like that with their talons in a fish too big to carry and unable to extract. Don, I'll look into that leg band and post whatever I find out.

Saw one fall into water when the branch it was landing on broke. It got out in a hurry. Have also read, like Ric, they won't let go of something they catch and can drown. Saw a stat that said only 1 in 5 makes it to there 5th birthday.

It's good you corrected that before some ex-English teacher got hold of it! :-)

Don,
It's NOT a band -- it's "gang colors"
See how they're dressed the same, & both have that imposing look -- just waiting for trouble?
You were lucky to get away with your life!!
You just need a little "street smarts" like me. ;)
