Yesterday (Jan. 3) at the Wastewater, Joseph and I had 3 Golden Eagles. Other birds seen included 5 Snowy Owls, 2 Short-eared Owls, Northern Shrike, Cackling Goose, and Iceland Gull. At Pere Marquette we had a Surf Scoter as well.

I ran into Jonathan and his Brother on the way out of WW Tues. and they told me the same thing. They seemed to "know their stuff" but honestly, I too wondered about the I.D. So today I talked to Ric, and asked him about it. Quote; "If Jonathan, his brothers, OR their Dad tell you they saw a species -- you can bank on it" They're "top gun" Birders. So --- YEEHAA! let's start lookin for Goldens! :)

Ric told me the same thing today at the WW. Good find guys, hope they want to pose for pictures!!( The goldens not the brothers)
